Handprint Santa

What you need:

    • Red craft paper
    • Glue stick
    • Plain notecard or card stock
    • Paints
    • Paper plates
    • Googly eyes
Directions:

  1. Cut Santa-hat shapes (minus the pom-poms and white trim) from the craft paper, then glue one onto each card. Glue a pair of googly eyes a fingertip's width below each hat.
  2. Pour white paint onto one paper plate, and a dollop each of red, black, and pink (mix some red and white) onto another. Stamp white handprint beards, then use fingertips to stamp the trim on the hats, and a nose, mouth, and cheeks on each face

House Holiday Card

What you need:

  • Card Stock
  • Scissors
  • Colored fade-proof paper
  • Glue stick
  • Holly leaf stamp and green ink
  • Cardboard
  • Camera for family photo
Directions:
  1. To make the photo, have everyone dress their holiday best. Arrange holiday decor, such as wreaths and candles, in the background.
  2. To make the card, cut and fold the card stock into a 5- by 7-inch card. Cut out the chimney and roof from the fade-proof paper. Test-fit your photo inside; make the door opening a little smaller than the photo. Seal the picture in place, then glue the card -- except for the door! -- closed.

Cupcake Menorah

What you need:
  • 1 batch of any flavor cupcakes
  • Blue frosting
  • Candles

Directions:
  1. Bake your cupcakes and let them cool, then frost them with the blue frosting.
  2. Line them up as show in the picture
  3. If you do not have a large cupcake for the center you can just sit the cupcake on something to make it higher then the rest.
  4. Light your Menorah as you would or just use this as a center piece for a party
You can also make edible pretzle stick candles for the cupcakes using these instructions:

  1. Dip pretzel sticks in white chocolate to cover.  Hold upside down while excess drips.  This helps to form the "wick".
  2. Place coated pretzel sticks in Styrofoam block.  Refrigerate to speed chocolate to harden.
  3. Use decorating tip #14 to pipe yellow flames on candles.
  4. Place candles in cupcakes.

Gelt Bag

What you need:
  • 6” x 4” piece of navy blue felt
  • 6” x 6” piece of white felt
  • ½” x 6” strip of light blue felt
  • 6 flat wooden circles
  • Gold craft paint
  • White craft glue
  • Scissors

Directions:
  1. Paint the wood circles with gold paint and set aside to dry.
  2. Fold navy blue piece of felt in half to form the bag. Pipe glue up both sides, placing the light blue strip in the open corners of the felt. Press sides together and let dry.
  3. Cut out two triangles from white felt, triangles should be small enough to fit on the front of the felt bag, about 1.5-2” in width. Cut the centers of the triangles out as well.
  4. Glue one triangle, point side up, to the front of the blue bag. Glue the other triangle, point side down, on top of the first triangle, creating the Star of David.
  5. Fill bag with gold painted circles (coins).

Milk Carton Dreidel

What you need:

  • 1 small, single size paper milk carton
  • Tape
  • Knife
  • Paint
  • 1 popcicle stick
  • Glitter pen or white craft glue and loose glitter

Directions:

  1. Take a small, empty milk carton container and wash it out thoroughly. Dry it gently using a kitchen towel.
  2. Close the spout on the container and tape it shut using a small piece of masking tape.
  3. Using a kitchen knife (parents, please do this part for your children) cut a small incision into the bottom centre of your container, just long enough to put a Popsicle stick through.
  4. Paint the entire milk carton whatever colour you choose. If the paint looks streaky, do another coat.
  5. Wait an hour to make sure the paint is completely dry and then add the letters Nun, Hay, Gimel and Shin (pictured below) with glitter pens or craft glue and loose glitter to the four sides of your dreidel, one letter on each side.

Turkey Hand Cookies

This is more of a parent craft if you children are real young. Your child will still be able to give you a hand though.... get it... a hand....

What you need:
  • Your favorite rolled sugar cookie recipe.
  • Cookie frosting, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Black. I recommend Royal icing or Wilton color flow. Click those for the recipes.
  • Your child's hand
  • A knife
  • Piping bags or resealable food storage bags
Instructions:
  1. Trace your child/ren's hand on a piece of paper and cut it out to use as your stencil.
  2. Roll our your cookie dough and place the hands cut out on your dough and cut out hand shapes.
  3. If you want to let your your younger kids in on the decorating fun, let them decorate the cookies with sprinkles or what ever they would like before baking.
  4. Bake as directed.
  5. Make your cookie icing if you are making them, while your cookies are cooling. Put some of each color in different piping bags. If you are using the resealable bags, fill those with the icing and wait until you are ready to frost your cookies before snipping a very tiny snip at the corner of the bag. Cookie frosting gets hard quickly and clogs the holes.
  6. Once your cookies have cooled, begin decorating with the cookie frosting and let sit over night before packaging or a couple hours if you are not packaging them.

Handy Thanksgiving Wreath

This is a very cute wreath that is very easy to make.

What you need:
  • Red, Yellow and orange construction paper. (or any other color you would like to use)
  • Glue
  • Ribbon
  • Artificial leaves (optional)
  • Glitter (optional)
Instructions:

  1. First you are going to want to have your child/ren trace their hand on the construction paper multiple times. You are going to need 6 hands for each of the 3 colors. 18 hands in all.
  2. After you have all of the hands cut out, without gluing, place 9 of the hands in a circle to figure out which position will fit best. then lay the other 9 in a tighter circle on the front of the back 9. Once you are sure about the placement, glue your hands together.
  3. Glue your ribbon in a loop on the backside of the wreath and let dry. This will be how you hang your wreath.
  4. After the ribbon loop has dried flip the wreath over and tie a bow with your ribbon to glue at the top (this is if you are not using artificial leaves) If you are using artificial leaves, glue 2 pieces of ribbon as shown in the picture then glue (glue gun works best) your artificial leaves to the front.
  5. Decorate with glitter, stickers or let your children color each hand. Or leave it the way it is, either way is great.
  6. Let dry and hang your wreath.

T.P. Turkeys

This is a very easy craft that your kids will love.

What you need:
  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Markers
  • Red, Orange and Yellow construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Your kids hands
 Instructions:
  1. Have your child place their hand on a piece of colored construction paper and you or your child trace around their hand a couple times on each sheet of paper depending on how many of these turkeys you want to make. I made 3 hands on each sheet and lines up two pages to save time and effort on cutting. This makes 6 hands of each color so you should have 18 hands in.
  2. Cut out the hands, Mom or Dad might need to do this if your kids are too young.
  3. Glue or tape 3 to 4 hands together fanned out as feathers, alternating colors.
  4. Then attach 3 to 2 hands in front of the hands you just did.
  5. Have your child draw a turkey face onto the T.P. roll and and cut a triangular slit to make the beak.
  6. Glue or tape the hands to the back of the T.P. roll and you're done
These make very cute napkin or silverware holders at your Thanksgiving table or just as centerpieces.
