Turkey Hand Cookies

This is more of a parent craft if you children are real young. Your child will still be able to give you a hand though.... get it... a hand....

What you need:
  • Your favorite rolled sugar cookie recipe.
  • Cookie frosting, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Black. I recommend Royal icing or Wilton color flow. Click those for the recipes.
  • Your child's hand
  • A knife
  • Piping bags or resealable food storage bags
Instructions:
  1. Trace your child/ren's hand on a piece of paper and cut it out to use as your stencil.
  2. Roll our your cookie dough and place the hands cut out on your dough and cut out hand shapes.
  3. If you want to let your your younger kids in on the decorating fun, let them decorate the cookies with sprinkles or what ever they would like before baking.
  4. Bake as directed.
  5. Make your cookie icing if you are making them, while your cookies are cooling. Put some of each color in different piping bags. If you are using the resealable bags, fill those with the icing and wait until you are ready to frost your cookies before snipping a very tiny snip at the corner of the bag. Cookie frosting gets hard quickly and clogs the holes.
  6. Once your cookies have cooled, begin decorating with the cookie frosting and let sit over night before packaging or a couple hours if you are not packaging them.
